CSU Alumni Band at Homecoming and Family Weekend

The CSU Alumni Band brings together members from throughout our 124-year history. We want YOU on the field with us, performing at pre-game and halftime with YOUR Colorado State Marching Band. October 18 is the homecoming game against Hawai'i. Kickoff is at 5 p.m.

A Message from Jayme Taylor, Director of the CSU Marching Band

Greetings from Fort Collins and the beautiful campus of Colorado State University! As I settle down to write this, I am amazed that I am already starting year five as the Director of the CSU MB. What an incredible four years it has been so far: “getting the band back together” after the 2020 season, building back our numbers from 170 in the 2021 season to nearly 250 this year, a return to post-season bowl games, reinstating our High School Band Day (which this year will draw around 300 high school band members), unveiling our brand new uniforms this year, and next year – joining a new conference.  And while all of this change and growth has been daunting and difficult at times, one thing has not changed: our alumni’s pride and enthusiasm for the Colorado State Marching Band.

That is why I want to invite you to join us this year for CSU Homecoming and Family Weekend and the CSU Alumni Band. Even if it’s been a while since you joined us, you never really forget how it’s done. And, it is a wonderful time to reconnect with friends, see what’s new on campus (Clark Reno!) and what’s still the same, and to recapture some of the fun and excitement of performing for Rams fans at pre-game and halftime.

Additionally, I want you to keep a couple of things on your radar. First, we plan to make a big push for next year’s 125th anniversary of the CSUMB. We’d like to AT LEAST Equal the number of current students on the field with our Alumni Band at the 2026 Homecoming and Family Weekend. If you can’t make it this year, then next year is the one you don’t want to miss!

And finally, we have tentative approval from the University to create special keepsake items out of our prior uniforms (from 2015). We hope you will be interested in owning a piece of CSUMB history by purchasing pillows or tote bags made from these uniforms. Prices are still to be determined, but all profits will go to establishing a nest egg for our next set of uniforms in seven to eight years. Also, if you are interested, our previous uniform Shakos are already for sale at University Surplus. You can even buy a plume, too, if you’d like a complete set!

I hope to see ALL of you soon at CSU Homecoming and with the CSU Alumni Band. Look for the details, including registration, on our Alumni Band webpage.

Thank you for your support and Go Rams!
